1) INTRODUCTION
We respect your right to privacy and therefore aim to ensure that we comply with the legal requirement of the POPI ACT (popia.co.za) which regulates the manner in which we collect, process, store and destroy any personal information which you have provided to us through your own consent or through a request received from Reveler Tours SA (Pty) Ltd. By engaging with Reveler Tours SA (Pty) Ltd via email, continuing to use our website), clicking on the “ACCEPT” button provided on our website, or accessing and using our services you acknowledge that you have read this Policy and consent to the processing of your Personal Information as described below. In the event that you do not wish to consent to the processing of your Personal Information, or no longer want us to continue processing your Personal Information in accordance with this Policy, you are kindly requested to indicate same by sending us an email to info@revelertours.com.


2) WHAT IS PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Personal information means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (“data subject”). An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name & surname, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.


3) THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT & INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE
We collect information about you when you interact with our website, our booking process and when you input your details and information as part of using the Services we provide. We collect information about you when you sign-up for email newsletters or make an enquiry or booking through our booking processes or over the phone. We keep track of your preferences when you select settings within the Services.

  • Information we collect through our booking process: When booking Reveler Tours SA (Pty) Ltd products we collect and store content that you post, send, receive and share. We collect your data when you fill in booking information or when you speak to our bookings or guiding team. We collect this information to help with a smooth and efficient booking process & touring experience. Having access to this information allows us to provide services that are best suited to your needs and preferences (EG: We ask you about your dietary requirements in order to choose suitable dining locations during your tour).

  • Information we collect via our booking form:

    • Name - so we can address you in communication and provide this to relevant 3rd parties such as hotels & transfer companies

    • Email - In order to communicate throughout the booking process and to notify you of information relative booking and additional experiences

    • Mobile number (including for Whatsapp Messenger) - so we can contact you

    • Dates of travel - In order for us to know when you will be using our services

    • Dietary requirements - In order to choose suitable dining locations during your tour if applicable. We also provide snacks and cooking experiences on several tours and we will need to know if you have any preference or allergies

    • Pick up and drop off address of accommodation - We need to know where to collect you on the day of the experience and where to drop you off at the time and day that the experience ends.

    • *The above information may be shared partially or in it’s entirety with our 3rd party suppliers where needed should that respective supplier for a part of your booked experience (EG: If we have booked an outbound airport transfer for you the supplier will need to know at which location you need to be picked up at)

  • Payment Information: You provide payment information, such as payment card details, which we collect via employed secure payment processing services who are their own entities in South Africa. 3rd Party Payment Processes employed by Reveler Tours SA (Pty) Ltd include
    PayFast (Pty) Ltd, Yoco Technologies (Pty) Ltd, those employed by Airbnb Experiences and Viator who are able to confirm the security of your personal information and card details on in their own policies on their respective websites and at the point of checkout. Reveler Tours SA (Pty) Ltd also accepts direct EFT payments into our bank account held with First National Bank in South Africa. We will never request your credit card details via any kind of physical or online form.

  • Invoicing: We collect and store at least your name, date of experience booked and email address in a password protected invoicing system called Wave Invoicing. For partner companies and suppliers we collect and store physical addresses, company registration numbers and VAT numbers for legal and tax purposes.

  • Device and Connection Information: We collect information about the computer, phone, tablet, or other devices you use to access the Services. We collect and use your IP address and/or country preference in order to approximate your location so that we can provide you with a better Service experience.

  • Media: If you upload images to the website or social media, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website and our social media pages can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

  • Other Sources or Travel Partners: We receive information about you from other Service users, from third-party services, from our related companies, and from our business and travel channel partners.

  • Embedded Content from Other Websites: Live links and articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.


4) HOW WE PROCESS THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT
How we use the information we collect depends on which Services you use, how you use them, and any preferences you have communicated to us. Below are the specific purposes for which we use the information we collect about you.

  • Personalization of Experiences: We combine information about you and your activities to provide an ideal and memorable trips.

  • Business Development: We are constantly striving to improve our service and overall product. We process the information we gather about how people use our Services, as well as feedback provided directly to us, in order to troubleshoot and to identify trends, usage, activity patterns and areas for integration and improvement of the Services.

  • Communication with the data subject (you/the customer): We use your contact information to send transactional communications via email and within the Services, including confirming your booking, reminding you for payments, responding to your comments, questions and requests, providing customer support, and sending you notices. You will always have the option to opt our of any direct marketing emails you have previously opted in for.

  • Protecting our business and legal rights: Where required by law or where we believe it is necessary to protect our legal rights, interests and the interests of others, we use information about you in connection with legal claims, compliance, regulatory, and audit functions.

  • Customer support: We may use your information to resolve any issues you may encounter, to respond to your requests for assistance and to improve the Services.

  • Safety and security: We use information about you and your Service use to verify accounts and activity, to monitor suspicious or fraudulent activity and to identify violations of Service policies.

  • Only with your consent: We use information about you where you have given us consent to do so for a specific purpose not listed above. For example, we may publish testimonials or featured customer stories to promote the Services, with your permission.


5) HOW WE STORE YOUR INFORMATION & SECURITY
We use password protected cloud storage data hosting service providers in South Africa, Canada and United States to host the information we collect. Our site is protected with a variety of security measures such as change control procedures, passwords, and physical access controls. We also employ a variety of other mechanisms to ensure that data you provide is not lost, misused, or altered inappropriately. These controls include data confidentiality policies and regular database backups.


6) HOW LONG WE STORE YOUR INFORMATION
How long we keep information we collect about you depends on the type of information, as described in further detail below.

  • Booking Information: We retain some of your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, to resolve disputes, to enforce our agreements, to support business operations, and to continue to develop and improve our Services. Information related to dietary requirements and previous trip history is deleted from our cloud based storage services after 6 months of your final day of your booking.

  • Marketing Information: If you have elected to receive marketing emails from us, we retain information about your marketing preferences for a reasonable period of time from the date you last expressed interest in our Services, such as when you last opened an email from us or ceased using your account. We retain information derived from cookies and other tracking technologies for a reasonable period of time from the date such information was created.


7) NEWSLETTER SUBSCRIPTIONS
Should you wish to subscribe to our newsletter, we will, from time to time, send you promotional emails about Reveler Tours SA (Pty) Ltd special offers or other information using the email address which you have provided. Whilst we love to keep in touch with our guests to share small victories, exciting products and exceptional services, we do not contact our guests via email, short message service (sms) / text or similar electronic solutions for marketing purposes unless they have provided us with their consent to do so. Such engagement shall at all times be limited, be relevant and we trust be of interest to you as our guest. Please note that you can unsubscribe from this list at any time should you wish to by selecting the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of the newsletter, or by emailing us your request info@revelertours.com or selecting the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email you receive from us.


8) ACCESSING AND CONTROLLING YOUR INFORMATION
You have the right to request a copy of your information, to object to our use of your information (including for marketing purposes), to request the deletion or restriction of your information, or to request your information in a structured, electronic format. Where applicable there may be a fee charged for the request of personal information in a structured electronic format. To gain access to your information, to delete or to request that we stop using your information please contact us at info@revelertours.com or blainesmith@revelertours.com.

To respond to your request or inquiry, we may require information to allow us to verify that you are the person authorized to view the Personal Information you are requesting access to as contemplated in this Policy. We reserve the right to, at our discretion, refuse to allow you access to certain information which, in our view, if provided to you, will compromise another person’s privacy or will violate any applicable law, foreign law, regulation, or directive in respect of which we are obliged to observe and adhere to pursuant to processing Personal Information. Subject to legal and other permissible considerations we will make every effort to honour your request within 30 business days or we will inform you if we require further information to fulfil the request.


9) SHARING OF YOUR INFORMATION
We share information we collect about you in the ways discussed below. To complete your booking we need your personal details including your name, address, email address, phone number, dates of travel and travel interests. In order to process the booking, we may in some instances pass all or some of this information on to our travel partners and suppliers. This is done on your behalf. We will not sell or rent any personally identifiable information about you to any third party whatsoever.

  • Relative Trade & Travel Partners: We work with third parties who help us improve the Services and travel offerings we provide to you. This help could be hotel or accommodation fulfillment to deliver a more holistic booking experience for you. We may share your information with these third parties in connection with the help they are giving to us, such as to assist with accommodation and travel booking fulfillment. We may also share information with these third parties where you have agreed to that sharing.

  • Service Providers: We work with third-party service providers to provide website and application development, hosting, backup, storage, virtual infrastructure, payment processing, analysis and other services for us, which may require them to access or use information about you. If a service provider needs to access information about you to perform services on our behalf, they do so under close instruction from us, including policies and procedures designed to protect your information.

  • Social Media and 3rd Party Sites: The Services may include links that direct you to other websites or services whose privacy practices may differ from ours. Your use of and any information you submit to any of those third-party sites is governed by their privacy policies, not this one.

10) OTHER NOTES ON PRIVACY AND INFORMATION

  • Information on Children: We do not collect or share (unless without explicit consent) information on individuals under the age of 16. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information. If you become aware that a child has provided us with any personal information, please contact our support services.

  • Changes to Privacy Policy: We may change this privacy policy from time to time, if the changes are significant, we will notify you by sending you an email notification. We encourage you to review our privacy policy whenever you use the Services to stay informed about our information practices and the ways that you can help protect your own privacy. If you disagree with any changes to this privacy policy, we politely request that you should stop using the Services.


11) GOVERNING LAW & COMPLAINTS
The laws of South Africa will govern any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to electronically submitted Personal Information through the use of the Websites. Should you believe that we have utilized your Personal Information contrary to applicable law, you undertake to first attempt to resolve any concerns with us. If you are not satisfied with such process, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator, once the full Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 is in force.
