Every guided journey has the potential to be one of the most compelling stories you’re likely to be a part of, this is particularly true when touring South Africa. Storytellers by Reveler Tours SA is an initiative aimed at empowering the next generation of aspiring tour companions to be the type of storytellers that create the most memorable of travel experiences while bringing their own success story to light. From plight to flight, storytellers identifies candidates from marginalized communities who have dreams of becoming the next tour guide to wow Revelers from all parts of the globe. The initiative equips candidates in a financial and structural sense to follow a journey from high school graduate to qualified guide, intern and finally fully fledged tour companion and perhaps even small business owner.
The Journey
Reveler Tours SA will be working with a number of high schools in marginalized communities in the Cape Town Metro. We will identify graduates who have ambitions of completing a tertiary education qualification in tour guiding but do not have the financial means to do so. A pre-selection process will take place where potential candidates will be treated to a number of different touring experiences around Cape Town. Those who show strong a interest and a willingness to learn about becoming a guide and the expertise needed will be considered. Once identified; candidates will be given full financial support in order to complete their 3 month guiding course. Support will also be given in the form of transport, the purchasing of course material and data often needed to perform optimally in an academic environment.

The Help We Need
The cost of a tour culture tour guiding course is 6000 ZAR at the Livingstone Tourism Academy in Cape Town. This is the level needed to be considered a registered and legal guide and one that both of us have. At the very least we aim to put one female and male guide through the programme within the first 2 months of us going live. However we’re building this to last for however long we can keep it going for. We have also committed to dedicating 2% of profits from touring activities to this cause. Our previous cause, the Reveler Foundation help put school shoes on the feet of more than 100 kids in need. Together we can do more!
Where your Contribution Makes a Difference
100% of additional your donation will go directly to the chosen candidates in their quest to complete a 3 month culture guiding course as well as providing for their transportation to get to and from class OR internet fees needed to attend class online. Included in this is the ability to facilitate tours during the pre-selection process in order for us to identify ideal candidates for a storytellers scholarship.

SPONSOR An educational TOUR
In order to identify suitable candidates we will be working with several high schools in marginalized communities. The focus will be on graduates who cannot afford a tertiary education in the tourism industry due to financial constraints.
Potential candidates will be treated to an educational tour of different destinations in Cape Town and surrounds and particular consideration will be given to those candidates who engage fully and intentionally with the experience.
